It is Day 10 of this 42-day series on Six Weeks to Summer: A Traveler’s Fitness Plan.
The Teru Teru Bozus of yesterday brought us a sunny day today. It is the last full day of the cruise and we’re floating somewhere east of Japan.
An early morning walk around the deck is how is started my day. A walking deck is typical on many ships and is a wonderful way to get a walk or run in while enjoying the fresh ocean air.
Other options include the ship’s fitness center (cardio, machines, free weights, yoga mats), walking the inner hallways of the ship or running up and down stairs. The fitness center on our ship offers exercise classes (many for a fee), as well. So lack of exercise ability is not an excuse on any ship I’ve been on.
There is also a scale to weigh in (displayed in either lbs or kgs) though with the rocking of the ship, the weight couldn’t seem to stabilize on the times I stepped onto the scale. I’ll wait and weight in back at home in a few days and see just how much I’m down over the course of two weeks in the Far East.
As for meals on our last cruise day:
- Back to eating a protein breakfast (smoked salmon with tomato slices)
- Salad with a grilled chicken breast for lunch
- Dinner will be grilled white fish with grilled vegetables and a salad
- Glass of red wine — or maybe two on this final evening on the ship
